Willis Towers Watson (WTW), a global insurance brokerage and advisory firm, has agreed to acquire US technology-driven insurance broker Newfront in a transaction valued at up to $1.3 billion. The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026.
Founded in 2017 and headquartered in San Francisco, Newfront is backed by investors including Goldman Sachs and Index Ventures. It integrates insurance expertise with cutting-edge technologies such as proprietary client tools and agentic AI. After the acquisition, Newfront’s Business Insurance division has been integrated into WTW’s Risk & Broking segment, while its Total Rewards business has been merged into WTW’s Health, Wealth & Career division.
