Munich Re Specialty Insurance has announced the appointment of former AIG claims executive Peter Macdonald as the company’s Chief Claims Officer for North America.

Mr. Macdonald most recently served as Head of Casualty Claims for North America General Insurance at AIG. Earlier in his career, he held a series of core claims roles at The Hartford Financial Services Group. In his new position, Mr. Macdonald will report to Sabrina Hart, President and CEO of Munich Re Specialty – North America.

He succeeds Mary Beth McClellan, who has been named Group Claims Director, Global Markets for Munich Re Specialty.
